Dear Bob Keast and Staff, I recently brought one of the pearl necklaces back for repair. I want to commend your staff for their excellent service. Tori kept me updated and to my surprise the necklace was repaired at no cost. This kind of service is rare today and makes me a return customer. I also enjoyed camping with you (except for the time we had to move my camper out of the water when TVA brought it up over the parking lot). No kidding, I appreciate your friendly and considerate service. Jim

I had not been to Birdsong since the early 70s when I was a kid. I never forgot about it. Mom & Dad & my brother & I used to camp for a week in the early spring & catch tons of big crappie. Mom got our school work for the week & we did our lessons in the evenings after fishing & supper. I lost my Dad to lung cancer this past march. I miss him a lot & how he loved to fish. While taking a 3 day trip to Memphis, we saw the sign for Birdsong & stopped off. A lot of it looks the same. What good times!!!

What an experience! I had a ball! My hubby presented me with my very first strand of precious pearls for my birthday, and they came from you! To say they are magnificent is an understatement. I've had so many compliments! So, we're planning a return visit for Sunday afternoon because we need a few more gifts (Mothers Day is coming!), and my daughter loves chocolate pearls! We can't wait to get back there.thanks so very much for a great learning experience, and a truly fun visit as well.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for participating in this year’s “A Taste of Jackson and West Tennessee.” Your involvement in “22nd Annual Taste of Jackson and West Tennessee has really helped our event grow. You put a lot of your time and efforts into this event to ensure that the tasters get what they come to for the event for—some of the finest dishes the city has to offer. The length of the lines at the “Taste” tells us that the people really enjoy and appreciate your efforts in bringing pure Benton County sorghum and hot biscuits to the people of West Tennessee. We appreciate your help in making our event so successful. Thank you for giving back to the community and helping in our fight against birth defects. We look forward to working with you again in next years “A Taste of Jackson and West Tennessee.” We welcome any ideas you might have of ways to improve the event.
Thank you again for all you do. Saving babies, together,

The Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse expresses gratitude to you for involving our affiliate Centers in the recent Boat Show in Jackson. Specifically, the proceeds from sales of Johnsonville Brats, cooked by some of our very own County Directors, will help fight child abuse in West Tennessee. We appreciate your creative thinking in involving us in this way. The Directors had fun at the Boat Show participating in the promotion and utilize the proceeds to provide services to children and families in their respective counties. We look forward to working with you again and wish you all good endeavours.

Bob, I just wanted to send a note thanking you for the GREAT time I had with my family out at Birdsong. I was a little worried when we rented the canoe as it was obvious that it is rarely used. We had a blast however. The wind had picked up but the boat traffic was minimal and my son and I had a great time taking it out and touring the harbor. The house rental was really nice and we really enjoyed the place. Everyone there was very friendly. We definitely plan on making this a regular stay. I hope your trip to Japan went well. I’d love to hear about the trip. I hope your wife is feeling better, she was getting over a bug when we were there. This change of season has those going around. Your Brother Traveling East David M. It was a pleasure working with you in conjunction with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development's July 5-10 West Tennessee "Delat Heritage" press tour. We were delighted that you could join us for this dinner, and provide the writers with a history and overview presentation about the Pearl Farm. Rebecca, Jim and Shirley had a ball during their visit, and we all had fun "oohing" and "ahhing" over their lovely pearl purchases. We greatley appreciate your participation in and support of the department's media marketing program. Your participation makes it possible for us to showcase the west Tennessee region to consumers through travel editorial coverage, ensuring that the area maintains a high profile among consumers as tyhey consider their vacation options. This is the first time we visit Tennesse and we found the folks to be very kind and curtious. Stayed five days at Birdsong. Bob and the family made sure we had a good time. The activities for the July 4th weekend never stopped. Birdsongs location was perfect for what we wanted to do just hours from Memphis and Nashville. If we visit Tennesse's west side we will be sure to stop in again.

I brought my family of five to do a little camping and boating last weekend. I will say I had the time of my life. We caught atleast 70 fish over the weekend (we kept 22), did some tubing and basically got back to reality. My job is stressfull and requires long hours. Birdsong was a nice slice of relief and paradise.

I just returned from the Fancy-Free Mystery Tour which included a stop at your Resort on Saturday, April 20th. Our visit to the Resort was definitely the highlight of our trip for me -- even better than seeing Elvis' birthplace in Tupelo! You obviously love what you do and your enthusiasm for all aspects of the operation made it a delight afternoon. Thank you for the generous "goodie bags" we all received -- the group photo, the coffee mug, the freshwater pearl implant and all the information -- also for our photos on the Internet. My family loved that. Last, but definately not least, thanks to your staff. Every single one of them made us feel so welsome -- from greeting us with popcorn and lemonacde to lining up and waving us off. Best wishes for continued success in your wonderful and unique operation.

Dear Bob, The members of the Tennessee Motor Coach association would like to thank you and your staff for the hospitality shown to our group during our 2006 Drivers and Mechanics Rodeo. Everyone was so impressed by your facility, museum, and Pearl of A Tour, and certainly learn a great deal. I think the highlight was the sunset boat rides. Everyone had been so miserable with the excessive heat and the cool breeze aboard the boats was such a pleasure. Please except this small token of our appreciation and I am sure you will see more motorcoaches visiting your facility in the future. It is such a great place! Greetings to the Tourism and Hospitality Industry, For those of you unable to attend the last Jackson Hotel/ Motel meeting in July you certainly missed a real treat. Several of us from the Jackson Hotel Motel Association enjoyed the hospitality of Bob Keast and his staff at the TN River Pearl Museum, Farm, Tour and Pearl Jewelry Showroom and the Birdsong Resort and Marina. Bob certainly rolled out the red carpet and enlighted us all on the attraction he and his family have created just about an hour north and east of Jackson. We were entertained as we enjoyed Tennessee Bar B Que and fixin's while relaxing at the marina and under the pavilion before returning to Jackson. I would encourage all of you to take some time and get a cabin for the weekend or just go see the creation of pearls on the scenicTennessee River's beautiful Kentucky Lake. The jewelry is beautiful made from the farm raised pearls. People travel from other countries and hundreds of miles to see this attraction. We are blessed to have it right in our own back door.

Hi Bob and Janis Keast. Judy and Jerry here. We just arrived back home here in Claremont, CA yesterday. It took us six days to get back. Thank you and Janice for your hospitality. On the pools north of Alton, ILL I must have encountered 40 situations where people were down in the water. On only one occasion did a person in the boat hold up a ski to create a warning. I NEVER saw an orange flag being displayed. There needs to be much more boating safety education being done. We have had horrific boating accidents here in Cal and on the Colorado River when safety procedures have not been used. What do you think can be done there? BTW, on our return on the I40 from Knoxville we stopped at the Log Cabin Restaurant at Exit 143 at Hurricane Mills for breakfast. When we get things under control we will send you a care package from Trader Joes. As soon as possible I will send you a photo of the end of the road of I40 at Barstow. My boat is badly in need of cleaning and is parked in Palm Springs awaiting my return. Very warmest of regards from Judy and Jerry. Let’s do stay in touch!

Your message through the website is OK anytime but for future, please email me at bob@BirdsongResort.com so we can chat. It was nice of you to stop by last year and hope the next time in Camden that you can come by again.
The CARP story will go down in the history books of WRJB/WFWL along with the great and late Gary W. Powley interview with me. I think I have kept that on a reel to reel....REMEMBER that form of tape media?
Write again, real soon!

Dear Mr. Keast,
Communications is one of the primary components to successful economic development initiatives. Since becoming Commissioner, I felt a particular reasonability for our department to share a message with our partners. It is no longer enough to measure success by simply stating a few figures on job growth and investment. I truly want those individual and organizations that work with us on a regular basis to be aware of what we are doing strategically to enhance our goals. With that said, I wanted to effectively communicate what we have been doing over the past year, and what we expect to take place in the years ahead. Therefore, I am enclosing a 2005 Play Book that outlines our strategic plan. I encourage you to review the contents of this item as it contains significant information concerning that status and vision of our department. Thank you for your continuous support of our department and for your efforts on behalf of job growth and retention in Tennessee. Please do not hesitate to contact our office if we can be of assistance to you in the future Sincerely Matt Kisber Commissioner

Tennessee Dept of Environment & Conservation

Dear Conservation Commissioner Keast:
Thank you for making time to participate in the recent Governor's Land and Water Conservation Forum at Montgomery Bell State Park. This was truly a historic event as Governor Bredesen led an open discussion about the conservation vision and priorities of his Administration. Several participants noted this gathering was unprecedented and unlikely there is any state's chief executive either able or willing to do what Governor Bredesen did.
Besides the energy and excitement of the afternoon, I hope that you also took advantage of the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with so many different individuals committed to conservation and natural resource preservation in Tennessee. Along with Governor Bredesen, we recognize that effective partnerships are critical for this imitative. Shared commitments and common concerns will make it possible to realize success with our initial priority targets along the Cumberland Plateau and ultimately allow us to pursue conservation efforts in other special places across Tennessee which include the Tennessee River Valley corridor in middle and west Tennessee. While very significant, the Forum was just one important step forward. We will keep you informed and engaged as we make progress on the imitative.
Special appreciation for all of your long-term, diligent efforts on the 9 county Tennessee River Trails corridor area. We value your persistence, and look forward to its prosperity... as it is now a front running project. The development of the scenic route throughout the nine counties along the banks of the scenic Tennessee River is a wonderful promotional venue for the natural beauties of Tennessee. Other objectives of the Tennessee River Trail organization appear to be following suite, and many are pleased with its progress and direction.
Thank you again for everything you do to protect, preserve, and promote the fantastic natural resources we enjoy here in Tennessee. Sincerely, Betsy L. Child, Commissioner James H. Fyke, Deputy Commissioner State of Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation

Dear Bob, My dad and myself came there to sauger fish a few weeks ago. You asked us to stop by on the way out and let you know how they were biting, but we left pretty late. The sauger, unfortunately, did not bite our hook's, but we did see a few getting caught by others around the south bank at the mouth of the Duck river. We did not come home empty handed as the catfish were gracious enough to provide us with supper. We had a great time and I particularly wanted to thank you for your hospitality in providing us with our needs during the off season.

S.H. Evens Captain U.S. Coast Guard Chief Office of Boating
|
Dear Bob, The United States Coast Guard Office of Boating Safety would like to compliment Evinrude on its development of the ETEC outboard engine technology. Our office is responsible for improving recreational boating safety on America’s waterways, and part of this mission is to ensure that boat and marine manufactures provide products that enhance boating safety. A priority for our Office has been that level of carbon monoxide (CO) exposure to people in and around recreational boats. Sources of CO emissions have been documents to be there primary propulsion power plant “e.g. outboard engines) and / or the electrical power generator. We have in recent years coordinated CO workshops aimed at identifying effective control strategies to minimize the risk of CO hazards on recreational boats.
One valuable control strategy identified during the 2004 Miami Boat Show workshop was the Evinrude ETEC outboard engine technology. In addition to the technical data ( and supporting EPA certification data) presented at the workshop, a recent NIOSH CO study documented the low CO levels emitted by this service. Such technologies with recreational boats. To this end, the Office of Boating Safety is hopeful that ETEC – type outboard engine technology will be promoted to recreational boaters, both in new and re-powered boat installations. Birdsong Resort and Marina is a proud Evinrude ETEC dealer.
Congratulations to Evinrude on this accomplishment Sincerely, S.H. Evens Captain U.S. Coast Guard Chief Office of Boating Safety

Mr. Keast, I just wanted to thank you again SO much for your more than generous donation of a pontoon boat rental and pearl tour! This is going to be a hot auction item for the fundraiser. Outreach Ministries is a wonderful program and it helps so many children in our communities that aren't as fortunate as you and I. I think the thing that motivates me about this organization is that we are helping children, children who have been brought up in an environment that they cannot help. With our support these children will see that people do care and hopefully that will give them the strength to make a better life for them and to not give up hope. Hope is all some of these kids have. Again, thank you so very much. I just wanted to let you know that I really do appreciate all that you do for everyone in your community and professional life. Take care! See you soon. Susie Hall Pratt Outreach Ministries Volunteer

I had not talked to Bob Keast for 12 years. I was reading my Sunday Tampa Tribune and there was an article about Birdsong. That has been a beloved place for me since 1964. I was on staff at Camp Mack Morris just across the creek. Bob has always been a favorite person of mine, I'm glad to see him doing so well. I am writing to thank you again for your generous hospitality and support of the press trip to Memphis and West Tennessee that our firm conducted April 17-24 on behalf of the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. The trip was a great success. Most of the writers had not been to this part of Tennessee before, and they gained a new respect and appreciation for the region as a place of great beauty with an interesting history, great music, fine dining, and lots of friendly people.
Thank you for all of your efforts in hosting the writers at the Pearl Farm and the Folklife Museum and Interpretive Center. It was very generous of you to provide lunch and accommodate a second group of writers who came in the afternoon. The writers who selected this track were not disappointed. They had a great experience and appreciated the hospitality and warm welcome they received from you.
As articles appearl, we will send you copies, though in most cases it will be several months or more, as most publications have a lengthy lead time. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please call me at your convenience.
Thank you again for all of your support and the personal committment you have made to participating in these trips and helping promote tourism in the West Tennessee Region.

My first visit, while a short one, was very pleasant. I had ordered a part for my SeaArk boat and went to pick it up and was very surprised at the inventory of new/used boats that were there. It was a very neat and organized boat yard and the facilities were exceptional. While there, I drove around the marina and boatlaunch area and was very impressed at the upkeep of the grounds and the lake homes that were adjacent to it. It looked like a fisherman's and vacationer's delight. Bob and his staff were very helpful in supplying me with literature and brochures about the area and about planning a family reunion and a men's church retreat. A place that definitely needs checking out. Once my boat is ready, I am planning a trip over there and will be taking others with me. Thanks Bob for continuing to make Tennessee a sportsman's paradise and for maintaining the beauty that God has created.

Dear Mr. Keast,
As Governor of the State of Tennessee, I would like to thank you for participating in the 27th Joint Meeting of the U.S. Southeast/Japan Association.
The strength of the partnership between Japan and Tennessee serves an important role in Tennessee's economy. Tennessee ranks second in Japanese capital investments in the United States. Many Tennesseans rely on the jobs created from these relationships. That is why we must continue to find innovative ways to interact with our Japanese business partners in ways that benefit all involved.
Enclosed is a photograph taken during the reception in Tokyo held by Ambassador Howard Baker. Please accept this small token as gratitude for your hard work during such a memorable occasion. I look forward to working with you in the future as we continue to create the most productive and efficient business community in Tennessee.
Warmest regards, Phil Bredesen Governor of the State of Tennessee

Dear Bob, Thank you for your generous donation to the Big Sandy Fall Festival. The kindergarten had a very successful fundraiser because of people like you! The funds we raised will enable us to take several fun and educational field trips and be able to purchase extra classroom supplies such as computer software. We wish you, your employees and your families a safe and enjoyable holiday season. Thanks once again for your continued support of the children at Big Sandy School. Sincerely Cathy Evans Rosemary Hehn Kindergarten Teachers

Dear Bob, I had to write you and tell you what a great day we had at Birdsong Resort. All the people on our tour bus had to agree seeing the Freshwater Pearl Farm was so interesting. We enjoyed your talk, film and seeing the different shells. You were so patient about all our questions. It was fun going down to the water edge to open the shells to look for pearls. Our lunch was delicious...so much food and the service was great!!! You covered all the bases and then some with all the great information, cameras, mugs, etc. We were so pleased with our day. We all hope to come back again!!!

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have shown in your community through sponsorship of the Benton County Public Library's 2003 Summer Reading Program. Your continued support is very much appreciated as it provides benefits to the program that may have otherwise not been possible.
It is well known that summer reading leads to maintenance of reading skills and a love for reading for children and youth during their vacation time. As a community leader, you understand the significance of good reading skills in building a better economy, a stronger society, and a richer quality of life for all of our citizens. All Tennesseans are proud of you and others like you who are actively involved in improving literacy, education, and quality of life in our state.
Thank you for your continuing interest and support.

Dear Mr. Bob & Ms. Janis, Just a note to let you know that I really appreciate you all helping me out and getting me back on the water as quickly as possible. Mr. Ray did a great job on fixing my motor. It runs fine! It means a lot to me to know that people like you all are willing to help me get started in this wonderful sport of pro-bass fishing. I am looking forward to helping with the boat shows and anything else I can do to promote Birdsong! Again, thanks a lot for the great service and reasonable prices.

Bob, Many thanks to you and your great crew for providing us - once again - with a great visit! I add my thanks to the others. Also, many thanks for being so kind as to loan us a car to get to Camden - you always exceed all expectations! The food was great and I always enjoy visiting with some of your "inhabitants" - HA! All the best...T
